Your Next Step Starts Here
Before you reach out, here are answers to the questions we hear most. Since 2010, we've onboarded dozens of new client relationships — each beginning with a single, honest conversation. If you don't find what you're looking for below, the form goes directly to Sienna Marchetti, our Head of Client Strategy — and she's genuinely good at responding quickly.
Whether you're exploring our trading strategies, curious about which markets we cover, or ready to start the discovery process — this is the right place.
Answers Before You Ask
Our discretionary managed accounts start at $500,000. This isn't arbitrary — it's the threshold at which we can meaningfully implement multi-strategy approaches with proper position sizing. Think about it: if we're running an equity sleeve, an options income sleeve, and maintaining adequate cash reserves, you need enough capital for each to function without being crammed into two-position allocations. For concentrated stock management, minimum holding value is $1M. If you're below these thresholds but interested in learning to trade actively, our Trading Education & Mentorship program may be a better starting point.
Two options. Flat management fee: 1.25% annually on AUM, charged quarterly. Or reduced management fee of 0.75% plus a 15% performance fee on net new profits above a 4% hurdle rate with a high-water mark. No entry fees, no exit fees, no lock-up periods. All trading costs passed through at cost with zero markup. You'll know exactly what you're paying — down to the penny — because we publish it in your monthly report. Radical transparency isn't a slogan here. It's the accounting policy. You can read more about how each service tier is structured on our services page.
Our onboarding process typically takes 2–3 weeks. It includes a discovery conversation, portfolio audit, risk profiling, Investment Policy Statement creation, and account setup through our secure client portal. We don't rush this — getting the foundation right matters more than speed. Marcus once spent six weeks in discovery with a single client (the Cascadia Timber Holdings mandate) before placing a single trade. That patience produced an 11.3% net annualized return with a maximum drawdown of just 5.7%. The lesson: haste costs money. You can learn more about our team's approach to client onboarding on the about page.
Yes. Always. Every client has direct access to senior team members. Your primary contact is Sienna Marchetti, our Head of Client Strategy, but Marcus Whitfield (Founder & CIO), Priya Anand (Head of Options & Derivatives), Derek Haines (Head of Quantitative Research), and Jonas Berger (Trading Systems & Execution) are all accessible for strategy discussions. We maintain fewer than 60 client relationships specifically so we can offer this level of access. You won't be routed to a junior associate who wasn't born when you opened the account. That's a promise, not a marketing claim. See who you'd be working with on our team page.
Yes. We serve clients across Canada and can work with qualified international investors through appropriate regulatory channels. As a Portfolio Manager registered with the British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) and a member of the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), we operate under national regulatory frameworks that allow us to serve clients coast-to-coast. Most of our communication happens via secure video calls and our client portal — geography doesn't limit the quality of the relationship. We have clients from Vancouver to Toronto, and several cross-border mandates with Canadians who hold significant U.S. assets.
Our Trading Education & Mentorship program is available as a standalone engagement. One-on-one instruction from active professional traders — not a recorded webinar, not a generic online course — calibrated to your level. Technical analysis, options mechanics, risk management, position sizing, trading psychology, market microstructure. Sessions are structured around real market conditions and live examples, so you build skills you can actually deploy. Contact us to discuss what that looks like for you, and browse our research & insights for a sample of how we think about markets.
We trade across five core asset classes: North American equities, listed options, futures, foreign exchange (FX), and commodities. Our equity strategies focus primarily on large- and mid-cap names listed on the TSX, NYSE, and NASDAQ. Options strategies include covered calls, cash-secured puts, vertical spreads, and calendar spreads for income generation and hedging. Futures and FX are deployed tactically for macro positioning and currency overlay. We cover this in detail on our markets page, including our geographic reach and execution infrastructure.
Every client receives access to our secure client portal, which provides real-time portfolio visibility, trade logs, performance attribution, and KPI dashboards. Beyond the portal, you receive monthly performance reports that break down net returns, risk metrics (Sharpe ratio, max drawdown, beta exposure), and fee accounting. Quarterly, Sienna schedules a review call to walk through the numbers and discuss any adjustments to your Investment Policy Statement. We believe you should understand every trade we make and why — not just see a single performance number at year-end.
